April Updates

Sunday Morning Prayer
This week there is no RSVP required!
There will be no in-person service this weekend; please join us all together on Zoom (from home!) for a service of Morning Prayer led by Brett Deaton.
Leaflet and Zoom link will be in your worship email tomorrow!

New Vicar at St. Mark's

The Very Rev. Holladay Sanderson celebrated the Holy Eucharist and preached at two services Easter Sunday. Nearly 50 people attended in person or participated on Zoom.

If you didn’t have a chance to meet her, Holladay’s next visit will be Sunday, April 28, when we celebrate the feast of St. Mark, our patron saint.

Next month, she will preside at services May 9 (Mother’s Day) and
May 23 (Pentecost). She will also hold office hours during the weeks following these Sundays.

Parish Work-day
Where: Church & Rectory/Vicarage Yards
When: Saturday, April 10, 10am - 2pm

Lunch at noon
1:45pm trip to drop off yard waste
***If it snows, we will cancel.***

  • Come when you can and stay as long as you can!

  • Pizza served at noon for those working at that time

  • Masks and distancing required

  • BYOT (Bring Your Own Tools, but come even if you don't have any!)

Our outdoor spaces need a little spring cleaning! Come hang out with St. Mark's friends and offer your service as worship.

We will be raking leaves in the gardens and lawns, trimming bushes (under direction-so no experience needed!), and possibly doing other jobs, if the workers are available. If you can bring equipment, it's most welcome (e.g., trimmers, rakes, etc.); however, plastic yard bags will be provided.

We highly recommend bringing work gloves! We will stop at noon for lunch and about 1:45 to load bags to take to the recycling center. If you have a pick-up to carry bags to the recycling center and can bring it that afternoon, please email Nancy Lyle (People's warden and coordinator of this FUN event!): nancyl@moscow.com.

Spring Gathering Day -- Next Weekend!
Join with St. Mark's and other churches in our region for our Diocesan Gathering Day, April 17.

This is a unique (and online!) opportunity to hear from Canon for Discipleship, Andrea Farley, who visited us and preached a couple months ago. This is also a day for thinking about how to be the church in our context and community. We can connect with the world outside of Moscow in thinking about the work of the church in the world. Registration is required for this Zoom event happening two weeks after Easter, so register soon.

Easter Morning Labyrinth

Thank you to Sue Smalley and Lon Fletcher, whose lovely labyrinth was the site of our sunrise watch on Easter morning. Those who rose early to watch the light arrive did so in a special space where we acknowledged with our bodies the fluidity and circular nature of our pilgrimage to God.

Easter Lilies
Thank you for donating lilies to adorn the altar on Easter.
Susan Hodgin, Harriet Hughes, and Nancy Lyle helped provide our flowers.
Also, lilies were offered in honor and memory by:
Alice Dean,
who donated a lily in honor of her husband Jerry
Barbara O'Donnell, who donated a lily in memory of Susan Overstreet

And flowering the cross...
Our outdoor cross was flowered in honor of Christ's resurrection outside the church this year. Here's what it looked like.

Church Directory
You can access it online - it's easy-peasy!
Just go to: https://members.instantchurchdirectory.com/
Use your email (the one you received this at, because it's what we have on file for you at the church) and make up your own password. See? Easy-peasy!

Then, upload a photo, add your birthday or anniversary, and make any necessary changes ANY time! You can also see all members and attendees who have given us permission to publish their contact information.

We encourage you to take an Easter photo and upload it this weekend!

Look for these logos!
